1 in 7 women* are diagnosed with Endometriosis

It can take on average 6.5 years to be diagnosed

Endo affects over 1 million people in Australia

What is Endometriosis?

Endometriosis impacts 1 million Australians, yet despite its prevalence, the average diagnosis time for those living with the condition is a staggering 6.5 years. For many, this can leave those impacted with the condition with years of unanswered questions and sometimes, even putting life on hold.

There is no known cure, and treatment can often mean managing the symptoms of the disease.

But research can help change that. Diagnosis time has already been reduced from 12 to 6.5 years.

This tax time, your donation can help to support critical emerging endometriosis research, guided by the priorities of those living with the condition and the research communities.
Every dollar can help bring us closer to improved care, reduced diagnosis times and expand treatment options.

About Our Research

1 in 7 women and those PFAB will be diagnosed with endometriosis by the age of 44-49*. Whilst Endometriosis Australia has supported in reducing the diagnosis time from 12 to 6.5 years, there is still a long way to go to support those living with the condition.

We believe that everyone with endometriosis deserves the opportunity to thrive and enjoy life to the full. Our mission is to ensure that those living with endometriosis are seen, heard, and have access to the best evidence-based care that is patient driven, world class, respectful and inclusive.

Since 2017, Endometriosis Australia has been investing in research that addresses the real priorities of those living with the condition. As the largest non-government funder of endometriosis research in Australia, we’ve helped create valuable opportunities for emerging researchers and advanced projects that bring us closer to better support and outcomes for those with endometriosis.

But this work is far from over, we need your help today to continue this progress and drive more meaningful change for those impacted by the condition.

Donate now to support life-changing research, every dollar counts to transforming the future of endometriosis care.
